Οι Mortemia είναι το προσωπικό μουσικό σχήμα του Morten Veland. Πρόκειται για τον δημιουργό των Tristania και (αργότερα, όταν έφυγε από τους Tristania) των Sirenia. Το ντεμπούτο των Mortemia, υπό τον τίτλο "Misere Mortem", κυκλοφόρησε το 2010 από την Napalm Records.

Ο διάδοχός του ("The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions") "βγήκε" προ τριετίας (7 Οκτωβρίου 2022). Έκτοτε οι Mortemia κυκλοφορούσαν singles ως γενικότερο project υπό τον τίτλο τον τίτλο "The Covid Aftermath Sessions", το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε το περασμένο καλοκαίρι (1 Αυγούστου 2025).

Το νέο τους project φέρει τον τίτλο "The Cover Collab Sessions" και (προφανώς) αφορά σε διασκευές. Η πλέον πρόσφατη είναι στον ύμνο των Rolling Stones "Paint it Black". Το "Paint It Black" είναι από τα ωραιότερα, κλασικότερα και εμβληματικότερα τραγούδια στην ιστορία της rock μουσικής. Φέρει την υπογραφή του Mick Jagger και του Keith Richards.

Κυκλοφόρησε αυτόνομα (ως single) τον Μάιο του 1966 (7 Μαΐου στην Αμερική με το "Stupid Girl" στην δεύτερη πλευρά του βινυλίου - 13 Μαΐου στην Αγγλία με το "Long, Long While" b-side). Ηχογραφήθηκε σε διάστημα μόλις τεσσάρων ημερών (6-9 Μαρτίου) στην Καλιφόρνια και έχει γνωρίσει χιλιάδες διασκευές.

Ο Morten Veland έχει αναλάβει όλα τα μουσικά όργανα (και ότι σχετίζεται με το τεχνικό κομμάτι, παραγωγή κλπ) και η 35χρονη Αμερικανίδα τραγουδίστρια Kristin Starkey (μέλος των συγκροτημάτων Temperance και Twilight Force ως Krysthara στους δεύτερους) τα φωνητικά...
