Η πρώτη αποχώρηση του Ritchie Blackmore από τους Deep Purple, το 1975, δημιούργησε τους Rainbow. Η δεύτερη (το 1993) τους επανέφερε στο προσκήνιο παρότι ο Ριχάρδος ήθελε να κυκλοφορήσει προσωπικό δίσκο. Η δισκογραφική εταιρεία BMG επέμεινε να "βγει" το album ως Rainbow και κάπως έτσι προέκυψε το (υπέροχο) "Stranger in Us All" στα τελειώματα του καλοκαιριού του 1995.

Από τα ωραιότερα τραγούδια του δίσκου το "Ariel" (αποτελεί ένα από τα πρώτα τραγούδια που "έγραψαν" μαζί ο Ritchie Blackmore και η Candice Night), του οποίου το μουσικό βίντεο θυμόμαστε σήμερα. Οι Rainbow παρέμειναν ενεργοί μέχρι το 1997 (όταν και δημιουργήθηκαν οι Blackmore's Night) και επανήλθαν το 2015 (με τον Ronnie Romero στα φωνητικά)...
