Στις αρχές του καλοκαιριού του 1997 ο Ritchie Blackmore σοκάρει τους φίλους της μουσικής του (και τους ακροατές του) κυκλοφορώντας το ντεμπούτο των Blackmore's Night υπό τον τίτλο "Shadow Of The Moon". Ο Ritchie αφήνοντας στην άκρη (όχι τελείως πάντως) τον ηλεκτρισμό των Deep Purple και των Rainbow μας παρουσιάζει ένα (ημι)ακουστικό σχήμα μεσαιωνικού / αναγεννησιακού folk (κατά βάση), απόλυτα εναρμονισμένο με το προσωπικό του μουσικό όραμα.
Υπό μία έννοια οι Blackmore's Night αποτελούν μία άλλη πτυχή της ίδιας μήτρας που γέννησε και τους Rainbow. Το εξαιρετικό ντεμπούτο των Blackmore's Night ολοκληρώνεται με μία υπέροχη μπαλάντα, το τραγούδι "Wish You Were Here", σύνθεση του Σουηδικού pop συγκροτήματος Rednex (από το ντεμπούτο τους, "Sex & Violins", που "βγήκε" δύο χρόνια νωρίτερα, το 1995).
Το βίντεο της σημερινής ανάρτησης όμως δεν θα μας γυρίσει τόσο πίσω, μόλις δύο χρόνια πριν (9 Απριλίου 2020). Σύμφωνα με την μπάντα: «Blackmore's Night performing an acoustic version of 'Wish You Were Here' during a live stream show during Lockdown in April 2020».
