Ο ομώνυμος δίσκος των Metallica (ή αλλιώς "Black Album") "έσκασε" ως κεραυνός εν αιθρία στην μουσική βιομηχανία. Είναι το πλέον επιτυχημένο (εμπορικά) album της Αμερικάνικης μπάντας. Κυκλοφόρησε τον Αύγουστο του 1991, βρισκόταν για τέσσερις συνεχόμενες εβδομάδες στο νούμερο ένα των τσαρτ του Billboard και έχει πουλήσει περισσότερα από 35 εκατομμύρια αντίτυπα.

Το τραγούδι "Wherever I May Roam" το γνωρίσαμε μέσα από τον συγκεκριμένο δίσκο. Την επόμενη χρονιά (16 Οκτωβρίου 1992) είχε κυκλοφορήσει και αυτόνομα ως single. Τους στίχους έγραψε ο James Hetfield, ενώ στην σύνθεση συνεισέφερε και ο Lars Ulrich.

Πρόκειται για ένα από τα πλέον αναγνωρίσιμα τραγούδια στην ιστορία του heavy metal. Στην παρούσα ανάρτηση θα ασχοληθούμε με την "ζωντανή" απόδοση του τραγουδιού από τους Metallica στην Γερμανία (Hockenheim) προ ημερών (24 Ιουνίου 2022)...
