Desert Near the End - 'Break The Chains' (official lyric video)

“You must live for more”

Her song’s a silent scream
“Break the chains... break the chains”
A dream to die for
She softly sings no more

Welcome to madness -
I cannot hear my fears and doubts
Hopeless – I’m drifting
I’m lost between the living and the dead

Down in the Vale she’s gone,
Where blood blossoms grow
Down in the Vale the Reaper swings
I’ll be her vengeance
I won’t live on my knees
I will fulfill Eo’s dream

Through the flames you’ll see me
You’ll be mine, believe me
This is the moment I long for
By this Haemanthus I swear

Damn her voice and damn her dream
I’ll sow a song against their greed
Break the chains of fear and loss
Smash the chains that binds us all

We are all parts of a machine
We don’t have time to dream
Forbidden dance, forbidden songs
Oh I can’t take no more

It’s frightening, exciting
To stand alone and watch
As she stood so fragile,
So proud and strong and pure...
Before the gallows pole...

“My love, my love
Remember the cries
When winter died for spring skies
They roared and roared
But we grabbed our seed
And sowed a song
Against their greed

My son, my son
Remember the chains
When gold ruled with iron reins
We roared and roared
And twisted and screamed
For ours, a vale
of better dreams”

(Pierce Brown "Red Rising")

Sharpened by hate
I’m Eo’s vengeance
Strengthened by love
I will die standing
Than live on my knees
I will - remove your crown
Her song is silenced but
It lives with the wind
A tale of winter done

Her song’s a silent scream
“Break the chains... break the chains”
A dream to die for
Still... always echoes in my mind

Welcome to darkness -
I cannot feel my arms and legs
Hopeless - I’m drifting
I’ve lost my way, there’s nothing left I fear

Down in the Vale she’s gone,
Where blood blossoms grow
Down in the Vale the Reaper swings
I’ll be her voice forever
Break all the chains
I will become Eo’s dream

Ο πέμπτος "ολοκληρωμένος" δίσκος των Desert Near The End. Φέρει τον τίτλο "The Dawning of the Son" και "βγήκε" προ μηνός. Λεπτομέρειες μας δίνει το δελτίο τύπου:

«"Dawning of the Son" is the fifth chapter of the ongoing history of Desert Near The End. Recordings took place during the unprecedented situation that the world faced, concerning the Corona Virus in 2020, and it may be their most important album to date.

Born in a very difficult and uncertain time for the band, it served as a test, a testament and anchor at the same time. For the first time Akis recorded, apart from the bass guitar, all the guitars too! Except of course the guitar solos which were handled by Panos.

Musically it's a direct successor to their previous album but more grand in every aspect: It combines the more melodic approach of "Of Fire and Stars" with the wall of sound and the ferocity of "Theater of War". It is an Extreme Epic Power Thrash album and at the same time, more genre free than ever. No more influences.

This one is more Desert Near The End than ever before. Lyrically its inspiration derives from Pierce Brown's first trilogy of “The Red Rising” saga, combined with their own thoughts, stories and the belief of the most difficult but completely true fact, that by changing one life you can change the world. The band's concept was successfully depicted by Panagiotis Vlamis, artwork creator of "Theater of War".»
