Rainbow - 'Long Live Rock 'n' Roll' (Live in Munich 1977)

At the end of a dream
If you know what I mean
When the mist just starts to clear

In a similar way
At the end of today
I could feel the sound of writing on the wall

It cries for you
It's the least that you can do
Like a spiral on the wind
I can hear it screamin' in my mind

Long live rock and roll
Long live rock n' roll
Long live rock and roll

In a different time
When the words didn't rhyme
You could never quite be sure

Then on with the change
It was simple but strange
And you knew the feeling seemed to say it all

It cries for you
It's the least that you can do
Like a spiral on the wind
I can hear it screamin' in my mind

Long live rock and roll
Long live rock n' roll
Long live rock and roll

If you suddenly see
What has happened to me
You should spread the word around

And tell everyone here
That it's perfectly clear
They can sail above it all on what they've found

It cries for you
It's the best that you can do
Like a sound that's everywhere
I can hear it screamin' through the air

Long live rock and roll
Long live rock n' roll
Long live rock and roll

Το τραγούδι "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll" ήταν το πρώτο single των Rainbow από τον ομότιτλο δίσκο που κυκλοφόρησε το 1978. Στην δεύτερη πλευρά του βινυλίου ήταν το "Sensitive to Light". Επίσης τo "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll" ήταν το τελευταίο album του "Ουρανίου Τόξου" με τον (μεγάλο) Ronnie James Dio στα φωνητικά. Το 1997 ηχογραφήθηκε - φιλμογραφήθηκε συναυλία τους στο Μόναχο και κυκλοφόρησε το 2006 υπό τον τίτλο "Live in Munich 1977"...

Ο δίσκος των Rainbow 'Live in Munich 1977'
Δελτίο τύπου: «Rainbow was formed by Ritchie Blackmore in 1975 after he left Deep Purple at the height of their fame. They were instantly successful and released a string of hit albums, with an ever changing line-up, between 1975 and 1983 when Blackmore broke up the group to join the reformed Deep Purple. This concert from their European tour in 1977 features the line-up responsible for the "Long Live Rock'n'Roll" album released later that year, including vocalist Ronnie James Dio and drummer Cozy Powell. Blackmore had to be smuggled out of Austria after a trouble with the police at a gig two nights earlier and was very late arriving in Munich, all of which seemed to inspire both the band and the audience to create a truly remarkable gig.»
