Thorium - "Empires in the Sun" (lyric video)
Οι Ostrogoth έδρασαν κυρίως στην δεκαετία του ογδόντα. Heavy metal συγκρότημα εκ' Βελγίου με ένα ep και τρεις "ολοκληρωμένους" δίσκους από το 1983 έως το 1987. Έναν χρόνο αργότερα διαλύθηκαν κι επανήλθαν το 2010 με απολογισμό το ep "Last Tribe Standing" που κυκλοφόρησε το 2015.
Τρία από τα μέλη εκείνης της περιόδου σχημάτισαν (το 2016) τους Thorium, οι οποίοι μας παρουσιάζονται κάπως έτσι:
«Given great incentive by their work together in Ostrogoth over the past year, axemen Dario Frodo, Stripe and Tom Tee found themselves overwhelmed by massive amounts of inspiration for new material, much of which proved to lie too much outside the boundaries of what they could rightly realize with Ostrogoth.
Since 2016 and '17 saw the three musicians writing an absolutely vast quantity of new material in a very short period of time - so much so that not just one but nearly two full albums worth of songs are completed at this point - they decided to found a brand new band through which to channel all these new ideas.
Influenced by and incorporating elements of nearly all styles and genres of Metal from the past four decades, such as Melodic Metal, Power Metal, Progressive Metal, Speed Metal, Bay Area Thrash, NWOBHM, and of course classic Heavy Metal, Thorium’s members set themselves no boundaries and seek to deliver music that is heavy, melodic, virtuosic, catchy and conceptual.»
Τον Οκτώβριο του 2018 "βγήκε" το ομώνυμο ντεμπούτο των Thorium, με τον διάδοχό του να είναι προ των πυλών. Τιτλοφορείται "Empires in the Sun" κι έχει προγραμματισθεί να κυκλοφορήσει στις αρχές του επόμενου μήνα...
