Το 1993 ήταν το έτος που επανασυνδέθηκαν οι Mercyful Fate μετά το... οκταετές διάλειμμα. Η δεύτερη περίοδος της Δανέζικης μπάντας διήρκεσε έξι έτη (μέχρι το 1999). Πρώτος δισκογραφικός καρπός της επανένωσης (μετά το single "Egypt") ήταν το full length album "In the Shadows" που κυκλοφόρησε το καλοκαίρι της ίδιας χρονιάς. Εκεί μέσα βρίσκεται και το (εναρκτήριο) τραγούδι "The Bell Witch"...
