Μετά από τέσσερα demos και το ομώνυμο ep έφθασε η στιγμή για τον πρώτο "ολοκληρωμένο" δίσκο των Mercyful Fate. Φέρει τον τίτλο "Melissa" και κυκλοφόρησε στις 30 Οκτωβρίου του 1983 από την δισκογραφική εταιρεία Roadrunner. Έκτοτε γνώρισε αρκετές επανεκδόσεις - επανακυκλοφορίες.

Η πιο πρόσφατη έλαβε χώρα προ ημερών με την Metal Blade να το κυκλοφορεί σε cd και βινύλιο χωρίς επιπλέον τραγούδια. Την demo έκδοση του τραγουδιού "Curse of the Pharaohs" την βρίσκουμε (πέραν του demo "Burning the Cross") και στην συλλογή "Return of the Vampire" που κυκλοφόρησε τον Μάιο του 1992 κι επανακυκλοφόρησε προ ημερών (19 Ιουνίου) από την Metal Blade...
