Το μακρινό 1980 δημιουργήθηκαν στην Αγγλία οι Tank. Συγκρότημα του ευρύτερου N.W.O.B.H.M. μουσικού ρεύματος. Εννέα χρόνια αργότερα διαλύθηκαν προσωρινά και επανήλθαν το 1997 συνεχίζοντας για μία δεκαετία.

Το 2007 επήλθε "σχίσμα" στις τάξεις της μπάντας. Ο Algy Ward (μπάσο - φωνή) από την μία και οι κιθαρίστες Mick Tucker - Cliff Evans από την άλλη "χώρισαν τα τσανάκια τους" με αποτέλεσμα έκτοτε να δημιουργηθούν δύο συγκροτήματα με το ίδιο όνομα: Tank.

Οι Tank του Algy Ward έμειναν ενεργοί έως το 2023, μέχρι και τον θάνατο του Algy δηλαδή. Οι Ιταλοί metallers Konquest τίμησαν την μνήμη του κυκλοφορώντας το single με την διασκευή στο τραγούδι "Heavy Artillery", το οποίο πρωτογνωρίσαμε στον δίσκο "Filth Hounds of Hades" που κυκλοφόρησε το 1982...
