Το μακρινό 1979 δημιουργήθηκαν οι Stereo. Την επόμενη χρονιά μετονομάσθηκαν σε Ranger για να λάβουν το 1982 το "τελικό" τους όνομα (Night Ranger), με το οποίο συνεχίζουν μέχρι τις ημέρες μας (με ένα μικρό διάλειμμα από το 1989 έως το 1991).
