Το συγκρότημα Sons of Liberty είναι το προσωπικό μουσικό σχήμα του Jon Schaffer. Δημιουργήθηκαν το 2009, κυκλοφόρησαν το ντεμπούτο τους ("Brush-Fires of the Mind") το 2010 κι ένα ep ("Spirit of the Times") το 2011.

Δέκα χρόνια αργότερα (το 2021) έπεσαν τίτλοι τέλους, αλλά η μπάντα επανήλθε φέτος (2026) με νέα μέλη (Robert Kurtz - μπάσο, Mike O'Rourke - τύμπανα και Troy Seele - κιθάρα συν τον Jon Schaffer προφανώς). Η επιστροφή τους συνοδεύεται και από δισκογραφική επιστροφή.

"Thought Crimes Volume 1 and 2" ο τίτλος και πρόκειται για συλλογή, η οποία αποτελείται από δεκαπέντε τραγούδια και θα κυκλοφορήσει τον επόμενο μήνα (στις 4 Ιουλίου 2026) σε CD (1000 κόπιες) και σε διπλό βινύλιο (2000 αντίτυπα) μέσω της δισκογραφικής εταιρείας The Circle Music.

These actions have become a legendary symbol of courage, discipline, and self sacrifice against an overwhelming force.»
