Το μακρινό 1980 ο Matthias Lasch (γνωστότερος στους μουσικούς κύκλους ως Mat Sinner) δημιούργησε τους Sinner, ένα από τα παλαιότερα και ιστορικότερα heavy metal σχήματα όχι μόνο στην Γερμανία, αλλά και σε ολάκερη την Ευρώπη.

Παρά την παρουσία του Mat σε άλλα σχήματα (Primal Fear, Silent Force, Jorn, Kiske / Somerville, Level 10 κλπ) οι Sinner παραμένουν ενεργοί μέχρι τις ημέρες μας έχοντας κυκλοφορήσει είκοσι "ολοκληρωμένα" albums, 17 singles, εννέα συλλογές, δύο boxed sets και ένα live album.

Προ δεκαετίας, τον Μάιο του 2016, κυκλοφόρησε -σε διπλό cd- η συλλογή "No Place in Heaven - The Very Best of the Noise Years 1984-1987", ο οποία (όπως "μαρτυρά" και ο τίτλος") εστιάζει στα πρώτα χρόνια της μπάντας, το διάστημα που οι Sinner βρισκόταν στην Noise Records (μετά τους δύο πρώτους δίσκους δηλαδή, που "βγήκαν" από άλλες δισκογραφικές εταιρείες)...
