Greystone Canyon - 'Immigrant Song' (Led Zeppelin cover)

We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.
Hammer of the gods, will drive our ships to new land.
To fight the hordes, and sing and cry. Valhalla I am coming.

Always sweep with, with threshing oar.
Our only goal will be the western shore.

We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.
How soft your fields so green. Can whisper tales of gore.
Of how we calmed the tides of war. We are your over Lords.

Always sweep with threshing oar,
Our only goal will be the western shore.

So now you'd better stop, and rebuild all your ruins.
For peace and trust can win the day, despite of all your losing.

Greystone Canyon
«Australian rock / metal crossover band combining a love of the Wild West themes with tone, feel and fire.»

Κάπως έτσι μας συστήνονται οι Greystone Canyon, οι οποίοι μας έρχονται από την Μελβούρνη και έχουν κυκλοφορήσει τρεις "ολοκληρωμένους" δίσκους:

➣ "While the Wheels Still Turn" (2018)
➣ "Iron & Oak" (2024)
➣ "Something Borrowed... Something New" (2025)

Δελτίο τύπου: «Australian rockers Greystone Canyon return with their third full-length “Something Borrowed... Something New”, an album that embodies the honesty and fire of rock ’n’ roll played without compromise.

Formed in Melbourne, the band broke onto the international scene with “While the Wheels Still Turn” (2018), acclaimed worldwide and named “Debut Album of the Year” by national TV’s The Hard Rock Show.

Their follow-up “Iron & Oak” (2024) solidified their reputation, climbing into the Australian iTunes Hard Rock Top 20 and generating over 250,000 video views alongside multiple perfect 10/10 reviews.

The record also marked the beginning of international live activity including a support slot with U.S. heavy metal pioneers The Rods to name a few.

With “Something Borrowed... Something New”, the band chose to capture the immediacy of their live performances.

The album was recorded live in one room without click tracks, edits or digital trickery resulting in a warm, punchy and deeply organic sound rarely heard in today’s highly produced market.

Produced by the band themselves, engineered and mixed by Joel Taylor and mastered by drummer Sham Hughes, the record highlights their commitment to authenticity and craftsmanship.

As the title suggests, the album is a hybrid collection: new Greystone Canyon originals sit alongside reinterpretations of classic tracks by artists that shaped their identity.

Highlights include UFO’s “Doctor, Doctor”, ZZ Top’s “Just Got Paid”, Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song”, Thin Lizzy’s “Suicide”, and Neil Young’s “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)”, all delivered with respect yet imbued with the band’s own power and tone.

Equally strong are the originals: “Drives Us”, a road-ready hard rocker with an anthemic chorus; “Friend of the Fox”, exploring atmospheric textures and Floyd-ian nuances; and “Stealing Our Freedom”, a protest-driven closer that blends southern flair with heavy riffing, channeling both Lynyrd Skynyrd and Megadeth.

This dynamic balance of covers and originals makes “Something Borrowed... Something New” both instantly familiar and strikingly fresh appealing to long-time fans of classic rock while introducing new material that stands shoulder to shoulder with the legends.

The decision to include an interlude like “AAF”, built on the Australian national anthem and delivered with Hendrix-style intensity, further underscores the band’s creativity and sense of identity.

For fans of Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne and Thin Lizzy, this record is a rare throwback to a time when albums were alive with energy, spontaneity and personality.

Greystone Canyon’s blend of heartfelt songwriting, classic influences and live-recorded honesty makes “Something Borrowed... Something New” a release perfectly positioned for audiences seeking genuine rock music in a digital age.

With a proven track record of strong reviews, chart entries and international attention, the band is set to expand its presence further and bring its unmistakable sound to new listeners across the U.S. and beyond.»
