Οι Viron αποτελούν ένα από τα πολύ αγαπημένα μου συγκροτήματα και εκ των κορυφαίων της πρώτης δεκαετίας της τρέχουσας χιλιετίας στο κλασικό heavy metal. Δημιουργήθηκαν το 2002 (τα δύο πρώτα χρόνια ως Seduction) στην Γερμανία και έμειναν ενεργοί μέχρι το 2009.
Μας συστήνονται κάπως έτσι: «Viron was a traditional Heavy Metal band from Germany with tons of US-Metal influences» και έχουν κυκλοφορήσει καταπληκτικά δύο full length albums ("NWOGHM" 2006, "Ferrum Gravis" 2008), ένα ep συν δύο demos ως Seduction.
Κάποια στιγμή ο (τραγουδιστής) Alexx Stahl και ο (drummer) Neudi (Andreas Neuderth το κανονικό ονοματεπώνυμό του) δημιούργησαν μπάντα διασκευών στους (θεούς) Deep Purple υπό το όνομα Child In Time. Κάποιες συναυλίες και κάποιες ηχογραφήσεις στο στούντιο. Κάποιες "σώθηκαν" και κάποιες όχι, όπως αναφέρει ο Neudi.
"Burn", ένα από τα ωραιότερα τραγούδια των DP. Πρόκειται για το μουσικό κομμάτι που "ανοίγει" τον ομότιτλο δίσκο (όχι απλά δίσκο, δισκάρα!), ο οποίος κυκλοφόρησε τον Φεβρουάριο του 1974. Το βασικό του μουσικό θέμα είναι εμπνευσμένο από το τραγούδι του George Gershwin "Fascinating Rhythm" που κυκλοφόρησε πριν από... έναν αιώνα (το 1924)!!!
Το (αρχικό) τραγούδι ηχογραφήθηκε στο Μοντρέ της Ελβετίας τον Νοέμβριο του 1973. Οι στίχοι ανήκουν στον David Coverdale, ο οποίος είχε δηλώσει πως έγραψε επτά διαφορετικές εκδοχές πριν κάνει την τελική επιλογή. Το "Burn" κυκλοφόρησε και αυτόνομα, ως single (7").
Ακούμε την (υπέροχη) προσέγγιση των Child In Time, η οποία ηχογραφήθηκε το 2007. Πλην των Alexx Stahl και Neudi ακούμε τον Dr. Harald Schirmer στα πλήκτρα, τον Chris στην κιθάρα και τον Hermann στο μπάσο. Alexx Stahl και Neudi συνεργάζονται εκ νέου στο συγκρότημα Trance, αλλά αυτό είναι μία άλλη ιστορία που θα ειπωθεί κάποια άλλη στιγμή...

Neudi: «In 2007 the Deep Purple Tribute band Child In Time decided to record parts of their liveshow in a small studio in Worms, recorded by the locally known musician Ralf Bachmann.
Singer Alexx Stahl and drummer Neudi were in the band Viron at that point, later they also were in Roxxcalibur and for some months in Trance.
Other musicians involved: Dr. Harald Schirmer on a Hammond organ with two leslies, guitarplayer Chris (RIP) and bassplayer Hermann (RIP). Child In Time played various local shows in the Rhine-Main-Area, but also in Austria.
Line Up changes and the death of bassplayer Hermann were the end of the band. Unlike other Deep Purple tribute bands, Child In Time were improvising on stage, just like the original band did too. Unfortunately many hits on the toms are missing in this recording due to a too harsh gate effect on the drums.»
