Το 2012 σχηματίσθηκαν στην Γερμανία οι Order of Priority. Τέσσερα χρόνια αργότερα, το 2016, μετονομάσθηκαν σε Sweeping Death και με αυτό το όνομα συνεχίζουν μέχρι τις ημέρες μας. Δύο full length albums, τέσσερα EPs και ισάριθμα singles.

Μέσα στο 2025 έχουν "χτυπήσει" δισκογραφικά τέσσερις φορές: ένας "ολοκληρωμένος" δίσκος ("Devotion to the Absurd Night" στις 25 Απριλίου), δύο EPs ("To the Absurd Night" - 20 Ιουνίου, "Angstridden" - 18 Ιουλίου) και ένα single ("The Grip Tightens" στις 11 Απριλίου).

Εστιάζουμε στο full length album, το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε μέσω της δισκογραφικής εταιρείας Unholy Fire Records σε cd (300 αντίτυπα), βινύλιο (300 κόπιες) και σε ψηφιακή μορφή κι ακούμε τους Elias Witzigmann (φωνητικά), Andreas Bertl (μπάσο), Markus Heilmeier (κιθάρα) και Tobias Kasper (τύμπανα, πιάνο)...

Δελτίο τύπου: «Finally, new music from Sweeping Death! With "Devotion to the Absurd Night", the band releases their fourth record and second full-length album. After the release of the "Tristesse" EP in 2021, it quickly became clear that the next project had to be another full album.

They deliberately took their time, collecting ideas over the past few years to create a cohesive and self-contained body of work. The album features 10 tracks exploring the many facets of human existence.

In true Sweeping Death fashion, philosophical concepts-such as Albert Camus’ "Myth of Sisyphus" - are intertwined with personal experiences from recent years, ranging from struggles with depression and panic attacks to their eventual overcoming and the new perspective on life gained through that journey. Without any hint of moralizing, Sweeping Death presents an authentic musical work that unites a wide range of influences.

The central message is clear: through devotion, we can overcome any summit. Musically, Sweeping Death blends a homage to the old masters with the courage to tread new paths. For the first time, black metal influences run consistently throughout the entire album.

Thus, "Devotion to the Absurd Night" stands as an independent work, shaped by both the first EP "Astoria" and the last album "In Lucid". It is a logical evolution from "Tristesse", yet also marks the beginning of a new chapter in the band’s history: darker, more cohesive, and more profound.

The impressive artwork was created by Travis Smith, who has also crafted visual masterpieces for bands like Opeth and Death. It perfectly captures the concept of the absurd and visually brings to life the musical vision of "Devotion to the Absurd Night".»
