Η πρώτη μου επαφή με την μουσική πρόταση των Kamelot ήταν το μακρινό 1996 και ο δεύτερος δίσκος τους "Dominion". Καταπληκτικός δίσκος επικολυρικού Αμερικάνικου heavy metal. Διάβαζα εκείνη την εποχή για τραγουδιστή "κλώνο" του Midnight ή ακόμη και για τον ίδιο τον Midnight με ψευδώνυμο και έψαχνα να βρω (τρανταχτές τουλάχιστον) ομοιότητες μεταξύ των φωνητικών του Mark Vanderbilt με τον τραγουδιστή των Crimson Glory και δεν έβρισκα (αργότερα άκουσα το ντεμπούτο των Kamelot "Eternity" και κατάλαβα από που προήλθαν οι φήμες).

Ο (εκπληκτικός) δίσκος του 1998 "Siége Perilous", με τον Roy S. Khan πλέον στα φωνητικά, ήταν ακόμη καλύτερος, πιο πολυμορφικός, περισσότερο πλήρης. Χαλαρά ένας από τους καλύτερους heavy metal δίσκους της δεκαετίας του ενενήντα και της δισκοθήκης μου. Από το "The Fourth Legacy" και μετά αρχίζω και τους "χάνω", τους παρακολουθώ εξ αποστάσεως.

Οι τρεις πρώτοι δίσκοι των Kamelot θα κυκλοφορήσουν το φθινόπωρο (19 Σεπτεμβρίου 2025) σε τριπλό cd, πενταπλό βινύλιο και διάφορες άλλες εκδόσεις υπό τον τίτλο "Ascension 1995-1998". Θα υπάρχουν και τρία επιπλέον (και ακυκλοφόρητα) τραγούδια (σε σχέση με τις αρχικές εκδόσεις των δίσκων). Πρόκειται για τα μουσικά κομμάτια "Look Through These Kings Eyes", "Milllennium" και "Eternal Flame" στις demo εκδοχές τους...

Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι είναι η πρώτη φορά που οι τρεις πρώτοι δίσκοι των Kamelot θα κυκλοφορήσουν σε βινύλιο, αλλά η τιμή δείχνει αποτρεπτική (133,11€ η προπαραγγελία στην επίσημη ιστοσελίδα της Noise Records). Τελικά θα μείνω με τα CDs (και δοθείσης της ευκαιρίας ας τα... "ξεθάψω")!!! Must have δίσκοι για τους φίλους του επικολυρικού US Metal...
