"Rapture of the Deep" είναι ο τίτλος του 18ου "ολοκληρωμένου" στουντιακού δίσκου των Deep Purple. Ηχογραφήθηκε από τον Μάρτιο ως και τον Ιούνιο του 2005 και κυκλοφόρησε τον Νοέμβριο της ίδιας χρονιάς. Πρόκειται για τον τέταρτο δίσκο της Βρετανικής μπάντας με τον Steve Morse στην κιθάρα και τον δεύτερο με τον πληκτρά Don Airey.

Δύο δεκαετίες αργότερα ο δίσκος θα επανακυκλοφορήσει. Πρόκειται για την αποκαλούμενη 20th Anniversary Remix, θα "βγει" σε διπλό cd και τριπλό βινύλιο μέσω της δισκογραφικής εταιρείας earMUSIC και αναμένεται στα τελειώματα του καλοκαιριού (29 Αυγούστου 2025). Σε σχέση με την αρχική έκδοση θα υπάρχουν επιπλέον δύο τραγούδια (το "Things I Never Said" και το "MTV") συν πέντε demo εκδοχές τραγουδιών (του εν λόγω δίσκου)...

ΥΓ. Το εν λόγω μουσικό κομμάτι ("Clearly Quite Absurd") θεωρώ πως είναι από τα ωραιότερα τραγούδια που μας παρουσίασε η μπάντα μετά την αποχώρηση των "τιτάνων" Ritchie Blackmore και Jon Lord (και είχα να το ακούσω κάτι χρόνια, οπότε... καταλαβαίνετε).
