Το τραγούδι "Ride Like The Wind" ήταν το πρώτο single του Αμερικανού καλλιτέχνη Christopher Cross. Ηχογραφήθηκε το 1979 και κυκλοφόρησε αυτόνομα (ως single) τον Φεβρουάριο του 1980 και ως μέρος του ομώνυμου δίσκου που "βγήκε" δύο μήνες νωρίτερα (Δεκέμβριος 1979).
Αφηγείται την ιστορία ενός καταδικασμένου εγκληματία που θέλησε να διαφύγει - ξεφύγει στο Μεξικό. Ο συνθέτης είχε πει για το τραγούδι: «We were living in Houston at the time, and on the way down to Austin to record the songs, it was just a beautiful Texas day. I took acid. So I wrote the words on the way down from Houston to Austin.»
Το "Ride Like The Wind" συστήθηκε στο heavy metal κοινό μέσω της (πασίγνωστης) διασκευής των Saxon. Ήταν το εναρκτήριο τραγούδι στον δίσκο "Destiny" που κυκλοφόρησε τον Ιούνιο του 1988. Νωρίτερα είχε κυκλοφορήσει και ως single (με το "Red Alert" και το "Rock the Nations (live)" στην δεύτερη πλευρά του βινυλίου).
Το εν λόγω μουσικό κομμάτι διασκεύασε (και) ο Jørn Lande με το προσωπικό του σχήμα. Το αποτέλεσμα το βρίσκουμε στον δίσκο διασκευών "Heavy Rock Radio II - Executing the Classics", το οποίο τον Ιανουάριο του 2020. Σήμερα θα τον παρακολουθήσουμε να το αποδίδει "ζωντανά" προ τριετίας, στις 6 Μαΐου 2022.

Δελτίο τύπου: «May 6th 2022 Jørn performed at Karmøygeddon Metal Festival in Norway, and the show was filmed by John Fredrik Heramb and his team at Grey Gull Productions. The classic anthem "Ride Like The Wind" is written by Christopher Cross and is often found on the Jørn set list. Jørn has played Karmøygeddon Metal Festival several times over the years, including the very first festival back in 2004.»
