Το 2003 ο James Rivera δημιουργούσε τους Distant Thunder. Η μπάντα πήρε το όνομά της από τον (ομότιτλο) τρίτο δίσκο των Helstar, ενώ σχεδόν όλα τα μέλη της μπάντας είχαν (άμεση ή έμμεση) σχέση με τους Helstar. Μας συστήθηκαν με το τριών τραγουδιών ομώνυμο demo που κυκλοφόρησε την ίδια χρονιά.

Το επόμενο έτος (31 Μαΐου 2004) "βγήκε" και το επίσημο ντεμπούτο των Distant Thunder. "Welcome The End" ο τίτλος και αποτελεί το μοναδικό τους δισκογράφημα μέχρι και τις ημέρες μας. Προ ημερών (1 Μαΐου 2025) κυκλοφόρησε για πρώτη φορά σε βινύλιο μέσω της FHM Records.

Ακούμε τον James Rivera (φωνητικά), Eric Halpern (κιθάρα), Gregg Gill (κιθάρα), Mike LePond (μπάσο), Rick Ward (τύμπανα), Adam Rawlings (πλήκτρα), ενώ ο Jack Frost συνεισφέρει κιθαριστικά στην διασκευή στο (υπερ)κλασικό τραγούδι των Accept "Restless and Wild" (διασκευή είναι και το αμέσως προηγούμενο τραγούδι, το "Run with the Pack" των Helstar)...
