Στα τελειώματα του πρώτου καλοκαιρινού μήνα (27 Ιουνίου) του 1981 κυκλοφορούσε ο πρώτος "ζωντανά" ηχογραφημένος δίσκος των Motörhead υπό τον τίτλο "No Sleep 'til Hammersmith". Στην παρουσίαση του συγκεκριμένου έτους γράφαμε χαρακτηριστικά:

Το "No Sleep 'til Hammersmith" αποτελεί την εξαίρεση σε τούτη την λίστα καθότι είναι ο μοναδικός "ζωντανά" ηχογραφημένος δίσκος, αλλά δεν θα μπορούσε να απουσιάζει το καλύτερο live album στην ιστορία του heavy metal. Ο ορισμός του live. Όχι απλά το πρότυπο, αλλά το αρχέτυπο.

Ο δίσκος γνώρισε δεκάδες επανεκδόσεις, με πλέον πρόσφατη την προ τετραετίας (25 Ιουνίου 2021) από την δισκογραφική εταιρεία BMG σε τετραπλό cd (είχε ακόμη τρεις συναυλίες από την ίδια χρονιά, το 1981).
