Ringlorn - 'Royal Guard' (official audio)

Κάπως έτσι μας συστήνονται οι Ringlorn, οι οποίοι δημιουργήθηκαν προ τριετίας στην Κρήτη. Το ντεμπούτο τους ήταν ep τεσσάρων τραγουδιών. "Chapter 1" ο τίτλος και "βγήκε" πέρυσι (13 Φεβρουαρίου 2024) αυτοχρηματοδοτούμενο σε ψηφιακή μορφή.

Πλέον και ο πρώτος τους "ολοκληρωμένος" δίσκος βρίσκεται ήδη εκεί έξω. Τιτλοφορείται "Tales of War and Magic", αποτελείται από οκτώ τραγούδια και κυκλοφόρησε προ μηνός (24 Ιανουαρίου 2025) σε cd και σε ψηφιακή μορφή. Ακούμε τον Ιταλό τραγουδιστή Marco Concoreggi (βλ. Dexter Ward, ex-Battleroar κλπ), τον κιθαρίστα Takis Jnm και τον μπασίστα Gabriel "Leirbag" Kouliaki.

«The song is inspired from The Varangian Guard which was an elite unit of the Byzantine army from the tenth to the fourteenth century who served as personal bodyguards to the Byzantine emperors.

The Varangian Guard was known for being primarily composed of recruits from Northern Europe, including mainly Norsemen from Scandinavia but also Anglo-Saxons from England.

The Varangian Guard not only provided security for the Byzantine emperors, but also participated in many wars, often playing a decisive role.

The Varangian Guard was only used in battle during critical moments, or where the battle was most fierce.

Contemporary Byzantine chroniclers note with a mix of terror and fascination that the "Scandinavians were frightening both in appearance and in equipment, they attacked with reckless rage and neither cared about losing blood nor their wounds".»
