The album not only marks another milestone in the band's impressive career, but also represents a return to their Indian theme, which was first taken up on "Soul Temptation" (2003).

"Plague Of Rats" was produced by Seeb Levermann (Orden Ogan, Angus McSix), who helped the band transport the raw energy of their live performances into the studio.

The album cover was created by Gyula Havanczák, who was responsible for the artwork on previous Brainstorm releases.

Η Gita Govinda ("Το θεϊκό τραγούδι του έρωτα") είναι ένα κλασικό ερωτικό έργο της Ινδικής λογοτεχνίας. Γράφτηκε τον 12ο αιώνα από τον ποιητή Jaya Deva και περιλαμβάνει 24 ποιήματα. Αποτέλεσε -μεταξύ άλλων- την έμπνευση για το τραγούδι των Brainstorm "The Shepherd Girl (Gitagovinda)", με τον τραγουδιστή Andy B. Franck να μας λέει σχετικά:

«Gitagovinda is a Sanskrit poem written in the royal court of Bengal in the 12th century. It describes the love relationship between the Hindu god Krishna, his consort Radha and the gopis, the shepherd girls. Yes, I really liked this mythology.

Perhaps one of the cultures in the history of the world that deserves a little more attention. The original work combines influences from religious mysticism with eroticism.

Seduction, love adventures and the devoted worship of the god are given great importance. A text full of deep melancholy and despair, but also a mirror of a soul with an insight into the deepest hopes and longings. Maybe a little unusual for us, but definitely worth reading.»
