Τρεις δεκαετίες πίσω, το μακρινό 1994, χρονιά στην οποία σταμάτησε να τραγουδά στους Stratovarius (πήραν τον Timo Kotipelto) ο Timo Tolkki αποφάσισε να κυκλοφορήσει προσωπικό δίσκο.

"Classical Variations and Themes" και ήταν κατά βάση ορχηστρικός (instrumental), με μόλις δύο μουσικά κομμάτια ("Fire Dance Suite", το οποίο αποτελεί σύνθεση των Stratovarius από το 1986 και "Soldiers Prayer") να έχουν στίχους και φωνητικά.

Η μουσική σύνθεση "Guitar Concerto" πηγάζει από τον Ισπανό συνθέτη Joaquín Rodrigo και το έργο του "Concierto de Aranjuez", το οποίο είδε το φως το 1939 κι αποτελεί κονσέρτο για κλασική κιθάρα και ορχήστρα.

Το "Capriccio in A minor" αποτελεί σύνθεση του Niccolò Paganini, το "Death of a Swan" μας "έρχεται" από το έργο του Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky "Η Λίμνη των Κύκνων", ενώ το "Greensleeves" είναι το γνωστό Βρετανικό folk τραγούδι.

Ο δίσκος "Classical Variations and Themes" κυκλοφόρησε σε ψηφιακή μορφή στα τελειώματα του περασμένου χειμώνα (23 Φεβρουαρίου 2024). Εξαιρετικό δείγμα νεοκλασικού metal...
