Οι Epica "υπάρχουν" στο μουσικό σύμπαν από τις αρχές της χιλιετίας. Σχηματίσθηκαν από τον Mark Jansen το 2002 όταν αποχώρησε από τους After Forever. Αρχικά (για έναν χρόνο) ως Sahara Dust (με την Helena Iren Michaelsen στα φωνητικά) και στην συνέχεια ως Epica. Το όνομα της μπάντας είναι εμπνευσμένο από τον σχετικό δίσκο των Kamelot ("Epica", Ιανουάριος 2003).

Στην παρούσα ανάρτηση θα τους παρακολουθήσουμε να αποδίδουν "ζωντανά" το τραγούδι τους "Code of Life" (από τον δίσκο "Omega" που κυκλοφόρησε πρόπερσι) από την εμφάνισή τους στο Amsterdam (AFAS Live) στις αρχές του έτους (27 Ιανουαρίου 2023). Εκείνη η εμφάνισή τους ηχογραφήθηκε και κυκλοφόρησε (στις 6 Οκτωβρίου 2023) σε ψηφιακή κορφή υπό τον τίτλο "Live At AFAS Live"...
