The Raven Age - 'Tears of Stone' (official audio)

A silent night so unexpected unassuming
Upon the hill their sleep was then disturbed
There was a raid that killed most of their men
And still they cried but nobody heard
It’s time to face the truth there is no end in sight
I cannot let them take my life tonight
What is a man who does not face
His death with honour over the edge we ride

Six suns have set and risen
No prayer I have not given
This deafening silence is all
I have but still I listen
My heart beats on in yearning
When is my love returning
I fear the worst has happened scared
To find I’m right confirming

I lay awake with pictures
Running through my head
What is my purpose thinking
I’m better dead
Love brings me closer and closer
To the edge where I will find you

When will I see your face again
Can’t you see I’ve cried ten rivers
But it doesn’t bring you home
And all the sadness and the sorrow
Left inside of me forever lives
Inside these tears of stone

Sometimes I lay and wonder
Why my life’s torn asunder
Did I deserve this punishment
This storm of rain and thunder
What will the afterlife be
I pray you’re waiting for me
I look up to the sky and swear
I heard your voice just calling

These tears have turned to stone

The Raven Age - 'Blood Omen'
Φέρει τον τίτλο "Blood Omen", αποτελεί το νέο δισκογραφικό πόνημα των Βρετανών melodic metallers The Raven Age και κυκλοφόρησε στις αρχές του προηγούμενου μήνα. Οι The Raven Age μας έρχονται από το Λονδίνο.

Δελτίο τύπου: «Having established their name as one of the finest in modern British metal, thanks to two brilliant albums, 2019’s Conspiracy and Darkness Will Rise debut in 2017, The Raven Age have garnered over 75 million streams worldwide and have toured heavily across the globe with the likes of Killswitch Engage, Anthrax and Tremonti.

Blood Omen pushes everything further than ever before. The choruses are made for arenas, the riffs are taut, direct, and free of fat. It all makes for a grand musical stage on which the record’s concept plays out. ‘Forgive & Forget’ rushes in on a scalding lead guitar riff, while the epic ‘Nostradamus’ is a tale of the great prophet.

The heavy, raging ‘Serpents Tongue’, meanwhile, deals with “deceit, and never knowing if you’re being told the truth,” according to George. This motivation is written into the album’s concept.

Following the theme of its two predecessors, the raven motif looms large, this time centering on the overthrowing of old masters, with the band’s Raven King character coming to prominence. Even in the artwork, things are bolder, a close up of The Raven King, says George, “taking his rightful place on the throne.”

To capture all this on record, the band enlisted the help of long-term producer Matt Hyde (Slipknot, Machine Head, Bullet For My Valentine) to lay down the album’s framework, before setting to recording the rest of the album themselves. The final mastering was put into the treasured hands of Mika Jussila at Finnvox (Nightwish, Children of Bodom, HIM).»
