Το 1997 αποχώρησε από τους Grave Digger ο μπασίστας Tomi Göttlich. Τρία έτη αργότερα έφυγε και ο κιθαρίστας Uwe Lulis. Οι δύο μουσικοί ένωσαν τις δυνάμεις τους το 2.001 δημιουργώντας τους Rebellion. Το όνομα της μπάντας προέρχεται από το ομότιτλο (και πιθανότατα πλέον αναγνωρίσιμο) τραγούδι των Grave Digger (από τον δίσκο "Tunes of War" που κυκλοφόρησε το καλοκαίρι του 1996).

Εννέα "ολοκληρωμένοι" δίσκοι, δύο singles, ένα ep, μία συλλογή και ένα boxed set ο μέχρι τώρα δισκογραφικός τους απολογισμός. Μετά από 22 έτη στο "κουρμπέτι" έφθασε η στιγμή για τον πρώτο "ζωντανά" ηχογραφημένο δίσκο των Rebellion. Φέρει τον τίτλο "- X - Live in Iberia" και αναμένεται τον επόμενο μήνα...
