Πριν από δέκα χρόνια, στα τελειώματα της άνοιξης του 2012, κυκλοφορούσε το έκτο (6ο) full length album των Sabaton υπό τον τίτλο "Carolus Rex". Ο δίσκος ήταν concept (με ενιαία θεματολογία δηλαδή) και αναφέρεται στην Σουηδική αυτοκρατορία (γι' αυτό και ζήτησαν την συνδρομή του ιστορικού Bengt Liljegren) και ηχογραφήθηκε σε δύο γλώσσες: την μητρική τους (Σουηδικά) και στα Αγγλικά. Το σχετικό δελτίο τύπου αναφέρει:
Το album "Carolus Rex" επανακυκλοφόρησε το 2018 (ως Platinum Edition), ενώ "ξαναβγήκε" και φέτος (τον περασμένο Μάιο) σε cd και διπλό βινύλιο. Στην παρούσα ανάρτηση θα παρακολουθήσουμε το lyric video του τραγουδιού "The Lion From The North", για το οποίο η Σουηδική μπάντα μας λέει:
«Recorded in two separate versions -English and Swedish- this album is considered by many to be Sabaton’s masterpiece. It is the band’s most epic album to date, telling with historical accuracy the history of the Swedish Empire - from its beginning in 1611 to its collapse more than a century later during the reign of King Charles XII, after whom the album is named.»

«Known as the 'Lion From The North', King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden was a pioneer of modern warfare and statesmanship. He laid the foundations for the Swedish Empire and influenced many elements of the modern Swedish state. After his death, he was given the formal title of Gustav Adolf the Great.»
