Οι RivetSkull μας έρχονται από το Σιάτλ. Δημιουργήθηκαν προ οκταετίας, αλλά μουσικά δείχνουν να ανήκουν στα τέλη 70ς - αρχές 80ς. «If you are looking for the next new sub-sub-genre of heavy metal you won’t find it here» λέει η μπάντα, η οποία μας παρουσιάζεται κάπως έτσι:
«RivetSkull is an echo from the birth of heavy metal. A reflection of a magical moment in time when heavy metal first appeared in the 70’s and 80’s. Evolution of the genre? Not happening here. This is the Jurassic Park of heavy metal, the regrowth of that same DNA that created the beasts of metal that first roamed this planet.
What you will find is heavy, melodic and riff laden music with clear and strong vocals. There is a strong groove with prominent bass lines and tight fitting guitar riffs. The singing will take you back to a day when skill, melody, power and style mattered. All of this brought to you by a dedicated and hard working band of brothers.»
Προ διετίας (Φεβρουάριος 2020) κυκλοφόρησε το ντεμπούτο των RivetSkull υπό τον τίτλο "Trail of Souls". Το περασμένο καλοκαίρι (8 Ιουλίου 2022) επανακυκλοφόρησε (η αποκαλούμενη Reworked Reissue έκδοση) υπό τον τίτλο "Trail of Souls: Samsara" με διαφορετικό εξώφυλλο, διαφορετική σειρά τραγουδιών και μία αλλαγή: έλειπε η διασκευή στον ύμνο των Rainbow "Gates of Babylon" και στην θέση μπήκε το τραγούδι "Kings and Queens" (πρόκειται για διασκευή σε Aerosmith, η οποία κυκλοφόρησε και αυτόνομα, ως single, έναν μήνα νωρίτερα).

Οι RivetSkull μας λένε χαρακτηριστικά: «The release two years ago of our debut Trail of Souls was a moment of pride for us. We appreciate the love and support you've shown us since. While working on our new album we came to find that our self-recorded and self-produced release was not the best representation of us and those songs. We wanted to fix that before releasing our more music.»

Για το "Kings and Queens" ο Steven Tyler είχε πει (βλ. liner notes στην συλλογή "Pandora's Box") «This one was just about how many people died from holy wars because of their beliefs or non-beliefs. With that one, my brain was back with the knights of the round table».
