Τον Οκτώβριο του 1980, κυκλοφόρησε (ως single, με το "Dirty Love" στην δεύτερη πλευρά του βινυλίου) το τραγούδι "Ace of Spades". Λίγες ημέρες αργότερα (αρχές Νοεμβρίου) και ο ομότιτλος δίσκος. Τα υπόλοιπα είναι heavy metal ιστορία. Από τις σημαντικότερες στιγμές στην καριέρα των Motörhead και ένα από τα καλύτερα (και πλέον εμβληματικά) τραγούδια στην μυθολογία του heavy metal.
