Τραύμα ονομάζεται στην ιατρική επιστήμη «κάθε βίαιη καταστροφή ιστών, εσωτερική ή εξωτερική, ανεξάρτητα από το αίτιο που την προκάλεσε», σύμφωνα τον ορισμό του Παγκοσμίου Οργανισμού Υγείας.

Οι Trauma έγιναν σχετικά γνωστοί στους underground κύκλους επειδή "πέρασε" από το roster τους ο Cliff Burton πριν πάει στους Metallica. Κυκλοφόρησε μάλιστα και ένα demo (το 1982) με τον Cliff στο μπάσο, η μόνη του ηχογράφηση εκτός Metallica.

Η μπάντα συνέχισε μετά την αποχώρησή του κυκλοφορώντας έναν full length δίσκο ("Scratch and Scream" 1984) και ένα (ακόμη) demo. Διαλύθηκε το 1985 κι επανήλθε πριν από εννέα έτη κυκλοφορώντας δύο ακόμη δίσκους ("Rapture and Wrath" 2015, "As the World Dies" 2018). Το νέο τους δισκογραφικό πόνημα φέρει τον τίτλο "Awakening" και αναμένεται στις αρχές του επόμενου μήνα...
