Η ψύχωση είναι ψυχιατρική πάθηση, η οποία περιγράφει νοητική κατάσταση συνυφασμένη επί μακρόν με ψευδαισθήσεις, παραλήρημα και (συνεχόμενη) νοητική έκπτωση.
Από την Ελληνική λέξη προκύπτει το Αγγλικό Psychosis που αποτέλεσε πηγή έμπνευσης σε τουλάχιστον πέντε Αμερικάνικα συγκροτήματα για όνομα μπάντας. Οι Psychosis που μας ενδιαφέρουν στην συγκεκριμένη ανάρτηση μας έρχονται από την Καλιφόρνια.
Heavy / thrash metal μπάντα, η οποία σχηματίσθηκε το 1988, έμεινε ενεργή για μία πενταετία και επανήλθαν το 2006. Το μοναδικό τους full length album τιτλοφορείται "Lifeforce" και κυκλοφόρησε αυτοχρηματοδοτούμενο πριν από τριάντα χρόνια (1992).
Τον προηγούμενο μήνα (6 Μαΐου 2022) "βγήκε" η "30th Anniversary Edition" (σε cd και ψηφιακή μορφή) του δίσκου από την SubLevel Records. Στα έξι αρχικά τραγούδια του δίσκου υπάρχουν άλλα πέντε που προέρχονται από το πρώτο demo που ηχογράφησαν οι Psychosis το 1990 υπό τον τίτλο "Pavement Bound"...
