Τον Ιανουάριο του 1973 κυκλοφορούσε το ομώνυμο ντεμπούτο των Aerosmith. Το πλέον γνωστό τραγούδι του album είναι το "Dream On", το οποίο συνέθεσε ο Steven Tyler με τον φίλο του, Steven Emspack. Τον Ιούνιο της ίδιας χρονιάς κυκλοφόρησε και ως single (με το "Somebody" στην δεύτερη πλευρά).

Μία πρώιμη μορφή του "Dream On" (από πρόβα της μπάντας το 1971) βρίσκεται στο album "Aerosmith - 1971: The Road Starts Hear", το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε προ ημερών (στις 8 Απριλίου) στο πλαίσιο της Record Store Day. «These rare recordings from 1971 were recently discovered in Aerosmith’s Vindaloo Vaults and originally made available only as a limited-edition cassette and vinyl release for Record Store Day in 2021. The heavily sought-after RSD release quickly sold out and debuted on the Billboard 200.»
