Corners of Sanctuary - 'Mirror, Mirror (Look Into My Eyes)' (Def Leppard cover)

Mirror, mirror
Just watching with your eye of glass
You're just a fortune wheel
With something that I want to ask

Mirror, mirror
Got my fate lying in your hands
You're the fool, you're the juggler
Hangman and lover, you're not like no other

(Take a look into my eyes) Tell me what you see
(Take a look into my eyes) Tell me is it true?
(Take a look into my eyes) Oh, when I look at you
(Take a look into my eyes) Tell me is it me?
Is it really me?

Mirror, mirror
Gotta know just what you see
My crystal ball
You're looking so sly and so sleazy

Mirror, mirror
Hanging there with that crack in your eye
You make me stumble, make me blind
Time after time and line by line

(Take a look into my eyes) Tell me what you see
(Take a look into my eyes) Tell me is it true?
(Take a look into my eyes) Oh, when I look at you
(Take a look into my eyes) Tell me is it me?

Mirror mirror
Oh, tell me

You're the fool, you're the juggler
I ain't met a lover, you're like no other, so

(Take a look into my eyes) Tell me what you see
(Take a look into my eyes) Tell me is it true?
(Take a look into my eyes) Oh, it just can't last
(Take a look into my eyes) Going to have to smash the glass

(Take a look into my eyes)
(Take a look into my eyes) Ah yeah
(Take a look into my eyes)
(Take a look into my eyes)

(Take a look into my eyes)
(Take a look into my eyes) Take a look, take a look
(Take a look into my eyes) Look into my eyes
(Take a look into my eyes) Tell me is it real
Baby, baby, baby, baby

Οι Corners of Sanctuary μας έρχονται από την Φιλαδέλφεια (όχι την Νέα), δημιουργήθηκαν πριν από ένδεκα χρόνια και χαρακτηρίζουν την μουσική τους ως New Wave of Traditional American Heavy Metal (NWoTAHM). Εργάζονται ήδη πάνω στον νέο τους δίσκο, ο οποίος θα φέρει τον τίτλο "Vengeance of the Fallen"...

Δελτίο τύπου: «Traditional Heavy Metal headbangers, Corners of Sanctuary (COS), have dropped their first-ever cover song with the release of the classic 1981 Def Leppard track, "Mirror, Mirror (Look into My Eyes)".

"Frankie actually suggested us doing this particular track," said COS guitarist Mick Michaels. "We knew we wanted to do something from Def Leppard... but not any of the more well-known tracks. It's a powerful and moving song and definitely plays into the COS vibe."

Corners of Sanctuary swings the hammer to deliver a completely unique and atmospheric take on the original song’s concept by adding an expressive arrangement to both the bridge and solo sections and including the sound of breaking glass among other little gems.

"We wanted to do something that made it more like a Corners of Sanctuary song," said Michaels. "Taking some liberties is what the creative process is all about."

COS' "Mirror, Mirror (Look into My Eyes)” was mastered by legendary L.A. producer and former Metal Blade Records engineer, Bill Metoyer (Slayer, W.A.S.P., Armored Saint). A similarly haunting music video has also been released by the band to accompany the single.

"Never thought we would do a cover," Michaels added. "It's something new for us and we hope everyone likes it...we're keeping our fingers crossed."

With 2022 well on its way, Corners of Sanctuary has already begun work on new music, including recording for their next full-length album, "Vengeance of the Fallen," among other songs and has a small string of shows scheduled for the winter including performances with The Rods' drummer Carl Canedy's solo band Canedy and former Misfits' guitarist Doyle.»
