Spike! (David T. Chastain) - 'Play On' (video)
Οι Spike! δημιουργήθηκαν το μακρινό 1973 στο Cincinnati. Δύο έτη αργότερα ενσωματώθηκε στην μπάντα και ο David T. Chastain. Ήταν η πρώτη "απόπειρα" του Αμερικανού κιθαρίστα στην (μεγάλη) καριέρα του.
Το συγκρότημα έμεινε ενεργό μέχρι το 1984 κι από τις "στάχτες" του "γεννήθηκαν" οι CJSS (αλλά αυτή είναι μία άλλη ιστορία, την οποία έχουμε διηγηθεί ήδη).
Οι Spike! κυκλοφόρησαν τρία singles ("Porno Queen / Peaceful and Tranquil" 1976, "Leah / Turn Me on to Love" 1980, "Just Want Your Money / Lady Ann" 1982) και έναν "ολοκληρωμένο" δίσκο ("The Price of Pleasure" 1983).
Στα ξεκινήματα της τρέχουσα χιλιετίας (2001) "βγήκε" ένας ακόμη δίσκος ("The Forum Sessions") που αφορούσε "ζωντανές" ηχογραφήσεις των Spike! στο "The Forum Studio" (εξού κι ο τίτλος) στο Kentucky το 1981...
Δελτίο τύπου: «Spike! was a midwestern band in the late 70s and early 80s that toured the eastern United States relentlessly. The band featured David T. Chastain on guitar, Les Sharp on drums and Denny Kuller on bass and vocals in all of the different versions of the band.
This particular band also included Donnie Singleton on vocals and Chuck Terpo on keyboards. This is a live recording of the track "Play On." This is just a direct recording off the board, so the "in-house" sound would be different, but it is what we still have available from that time period that actually still works.
