Στο μουσικό φεστιβάλ του Waken έχουν εμφανιστεί αρκετές φορές (2011, 2017, 2017) οι Avantasia, κάτι που θα γίνει και το νέο έτος. Στεκόμαστε στην προ επταετίας εμφάνισή τους και τους βλέπουμε - ακούμε να αποδίδουν "ζωντανά" το τραγούδι "Dying for an Angel". Το τραγούδι το γνωρίσαμε μέσα από τον δίσκο των Avantasia "The Wicked Symphony" που κυκλοφόρησε την άνοιξη του 2010.
Οι Avantasia δημιουργήθηκαν το 2000 από τον Tobias Sammet των Edguy. Σχηματίσθηκαν ως side project για την κυκλοφορία μίας metal όπερας ("The Metal Opera", "The Metal Opera pt.II"), αλλά στην πορεία μετεξελίχθηκαν σε "κανονικό" σχήμα, το οποίο συνεχίζει ακάθεκτο μέχρι τις ημέρες μας έχοντας κυκλοφορήσει οκτώ "ολοκληρωμένους" δίσκους, τρία EPs, οκτώ singles, μία συλλογή, ένα split (μαζί με Dimmu Borgir και Sonata Arctica), τρία Boxed set και ένα live album...
