Power Paladin - "Righteous Fury" (video)

Ο δίσκος των Power Paladin "With the Magic of Windfyre Steel"
«Iceland has such a great representation of extreme metal. We didn’t feel we had much to add to that scene so why shouldn’t we do the complete opposite?» αναρωτήθηκαν κάποιοι μουσικοί στην Ισλανδία προ τετραετίας και δημιούργησαν τους Power Paladin, οι οποίοι μας παρουσιάζονται κάπως έτσι:

«Imagine deserted volcanic wasteland, freezing winds and the all-embracing darkness of the longest winters on this planet: The obvious inspiration for rather vicious and somber tunes for lonely evening hours that the biggest part of Iceland’s heavy music scene is known for.

Who would even dare to think of tales about brave warriors and mystical creatures coming from such an island? Power metal seemed like a fairytale until 2017 when Reykjavík based sextet Power Paladin (originally founded as Paladin) rose in quest of carrying out their uplifting tunes and finally proving everyone wrong. On an island known for its musical doom and gloom, they are the midnight sun.

Μετά από ένα single ("Kraven the Hunter") που κυκλοφόρησε πέρυσι οι Ισλανδοί power metal metallers είναι πανέτοιμοι για τον πρώτο "ολοκληρωμένο" τους δίσκο, ο οποίος φέρει τον τίτλο "With the Magic of Windfyre Steel" κι αναμένεται στα ξεκινήματα του νέου έτους...

Δελτίο τύπου: «Amongst metal circles, Iceland gets the seal of approval when it comes to the extreme field of music - acts like Sólstafir, Kontinuum and Audn, but also young classic rockers such as The Vintage Caravan have carried the music from the island state in the farthest corner of the European North West out into the world.

Power Paladin, launched in Reykjavík in 2017 as Iceland’s first and only Power Metal band, is now enriching the volcanic island. Power Paladin draw their influence from fantasy literature and the Heavy Metal greats of the 80s and 90s such as Edguy, Rhapsody, Helloween and Blind Guardian. The sextet holds a certain glam-touch and loves to ride past magical forests, castles and fire-breathing dragons at maximum speed.

The mammoth hymn “Kraven The Hunter”, Power Paladin’s debut limited 7“ single, simultaneously marks the first physical release on Atomic Fire. It’s quite a fitting debut for such an unparalleled catchy tune, which is in no way inferior to the full-length debut album, euphonically entitled “With The Magic Of Windfyre Steel”.

The band offers up hyper-melodic, fast, but always catchy Power Metal, all of the above reflecting one main topic: fun! Recorded in the summer of 2020, the nine numbers will finally be revealed to the metal community that has gained an absolute highlight. Power Paladin undoubtedly holds the future!»

Markus Wosgien (Atomic Fire Records CEO): «Speedy guitars and thundering drums, high-pitched vocals and mystical storytelling: there’s simply nothing about this band power metal fans - that can also be found in our label‘s ranks, of course - can’t go wrong with. That’s why we’re very happy to welcome Power Paladin as one of the very first additions to our varied roster. Let’s make this saga a glorious one!»

Power Paladin: «It’s about an order of ancient and righteous Paladins who break their seclusion in order to drive a heinous evil from the realms. A fast and furious song that pays homage to speed metal classics, including a solo powered by the triforce itself.»
