Την άνοιξη του 2000 οι HammerFall κυκλοφόρησαν τον τρίτο "ολοκληρωμένο" στουντιακό τους δίσκο υπό τον τίτλο "Renegade".

Κατώτερο των δύο πρώτων (το εκπληκτικό "Glory to the Brave" και το πολύ καλό "Legacy of Kings") πέτυχε όμως να τους καθιερώσει εμπορικά, να τους εισάγει στην νέα χιλιετία και να αποτελέσει ένα από τα βασικό θεμέλια στην μεγάλη καριέρα της Σουηδικής μπάντας που "κρατά" μέχρι και τις ημέρες μας.

Στα μέσα Νοεμβρίου θα "βγει" μία επετειακή έκδοση του δίσκου ("Renegade 2.0"), η οποία θα περιλαμβάνει δύο CDs κι ένα DVD. Το πρώτο cd θα περιλαμβάνει τα δέκα τραγούδια της αρχικής έκδοσης του δίσκου με νέο remix (του Fredrik Nordström).

Το δεύτερο cd θα περιλαμβάνει τον αρχικό δίσκο συν έξι bonus τραγούδια (βλ. το single "Renegade" και το ep "The Templar Renegade Crusades"). Το dvd τέλος αφορά το "The Templar Renegade Crusades" που πρωτοκυκλοφόρησε τον Οκτώβριο του 2000. Θα κυκλοφορήσει επίσης σε βινύλιο, αλλά και σε Vinyl-Boxset (τριπλό βινύλιο)...
