Οι Cities δημιουργήθηκαν το 1980 στην Νέα Υόρκη από τους A.J. Pero, Sal Mayn, Steve Mironovich και Ron Angell. Το 1982 ο A.J. Pero εγκαταλείπει την μπάντα για να ενταχθεί στους Twisted Sister με τους υπόλοιπους να συνεχίζουν. Την τριετία 1983-85 κυκλοφορούν τέσσερα demos. Το "επίσημο" ντεμπούτο τους ήταν το ep "Annihilation Absolute" που "βγήκε" το 1985.
Την επόμενη χρονιά επιστρέφει ο A.J. Pero και η μπάντα επανακυκλοφορεί το "Annihilation Absolute" ως "ολοκληρωμένο" δίσκο με την προσθήκη τριών ακόμη τραγουδιών σε σχέση με το ep ("Cruel Sea", "Shades of Black", "Deceiver") και το US Metal βρίσκει έναν από τους δίσκους που το καθόρισαν και το προσδιόρισαν.
Κάπου εκεί "χάνονται" τα δισκογραφική ίχνη της μπάντας, η οποία διαλύθηκε το 1987. Σύμφωνα με το Metal Archives οι Cities επανασυνδέθηκαν προ τριετίας (το 2018), αλλά δεν μπόρεσα να βρω περισσότερα στοιχεία που να το επιβεβαιώνουν ούε υπήρξε κάποια δραστηριότητα από την πλευρά την μπάντας...
