Πέρυσι η δισκογραφική εταιρεία Secret Services Records κυκλοφόρησε τον δίσκο "Somewhere In Brazil - The Brazilian Tribute To Iron Maiden". Όπως μαρτυρά ο τίτλος πρόκειται για album (διπλό cd) διασκευών σε τραγούδια των Iron Maiden από Βραζιλιάνικα συγκροτήματα. 26 μπάντες, αντίστοιχες διασκευές.
Ανάμεσά τους και οι Rage in My Eyes, οι οποίοι επέλεξαν το "Aces High", το οποίο γνωρίσαμε στον δίσκο των Βρετανών metallers "Powerslave" (το εναρκτήριο κομμάτι) που κυκλοφόρησε τον Σεπτέμβριο του 1984, ενώ έναν μήνα αργότερα "βγήκε" και αυτόνομα ως single (με την διασκευή στο "King of Twilight" των Nektar στην δεύτερη πλευρά του βινυλίου).
Οι Rage in My Eyes μας έρχονται από το Πόρτο Αλέγκρε, την πρωτεύουσα και μεγαλύτερη πόλη της Βραζιλιάνικης πολιτείας Ρίο Γκράντε ντο Σουλ. Δημιουργήθηκαν το 2002 ως Scelerata και το 2018 πήραν το τωρινό τους όνομα. Ως Rage in My Eyes έχουν κυκλοφορήσει έναν "ολοκληρωμένο" δίσκο ("Ice Cell" Αύγουστος 2019) κι ένα single ("I Don’t Want to Say Goodbye" Ιούνιος 2020)...
Δελτίο τύπου: «The Iron Maiden classic “Aces High” has been reworked by Rage In My Eyes - their tribute to the heavy metal legends who they were an opening act for in Porto Alegre, Brazil in October 2019. Their imagining of the classic is melodic, lightly proggy, and a proper homage to one of the most loved songs in metal history.
The illustrious Bruce Dickinson has one of the most recognizable voices in the genre and it’s rare that a band can do it justice - but Rage In My Eyes’ vocalist Jonathas Pozo nails the wide range and theatrics that come through the music.
They do add a creative spin, adding reverb and more gang vocals to the chorus. Rage In My Eyes released their first album “Ice Cell” under that name in 2019, the first offering since a rebrand and slight shift in music.
The band has recently started to blend elements of MILONGA (folk music from southern South America) to their music along with accordion, but to some of the tracks, resulting in a fresh type of music that no one has ever done before. The band quotes about the album:
"In summary, Ice Cell is a manifesto against the superficiality, inertia, coldness of the human being, his indifference, and his corruptible character. An album that seeks this sincere connection with the truth and musicality of each member, explaining their diverse influences in heavy metal and their South Brazilian and South American roots".
Obviously recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, fans of Symphony X and Metallica will also find the new track enjoyable.»
