Scardust - "Out of Strong Came Sweetness" with Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land)

AN ANGEL APPEARED UNTO THE BARREN WOMAN
SAYING YOU SHALL CONCEIVE, THE BORN ONE WILL BE FOR GOD

I have faced his mighty demands with granted power
Yet I'm cursed with so many years of longing
From their side, she looked at me, captured my devotion
Blinded my heart, deluded my soul

Out of eater came food
Out of strong came sweetness

Wherein thy great strength lieth?
I pressed him until his soul was vexed to death
He told me all his heart

Out of eater came food
Out of strong came sweetness

We held him, Took his eyes, And bound to The brass locks
Destroyer Of our land, We'll mock you As you fall down!

I SEDUCED HIM TO SLEEP UPON MY KNEES
AND HAD THE SEVEN LOCKS OF HIS HEAD SHAVEN OFF
UNTIL HIS MIGHTY STRENGTH WENT FROM HIM

Remember me and strengthen me now, Oh god I pray thee
That I may avenge my two eyes
"Let me die with the Philistines"
He bent with all might slaying more than he slew in his life

Out of eater came food
Out of strong came sweetness

We held him, Took his eyes, And bound to The brass locks
Destroyer Of our land, We'll mock you As you fall down!

Το βίντεο των Scardust για το "Out of Strong Came Sweetness" από το album "Sands of Time"

Δελτίο τύπου: «Israeli symphonic/progressive metal band featuring guest vocals by Orphaned Land vocalist (and fellow countryman) Kobi Farhi. Taken from the debut album, Sands of Time, out now on CD, Limited Vinyl pressing and Digital from M-Theory Audio.

'Out of Strong Came Sweetness' is a key phrase in Samson and Delilah's Biblical tale. The song is written and performed as a duet between the two main characters – Samson (Kobi Farhi) and Delilah (Noa Gruman). The first verse represents Samson's character, the conflicts he has to deal with and his blind attraction to Delilah even though she is on the enemy's side.

In the second verse, Delilah tells how she convinced him to tell her the secret to his powers (which is the length of his hair). The chorus is a direct quote of the key phrase of the story. It's basically a paradox, represented by metaphors, that is integrated in all different parts of the story.

“Sands Of Time” was mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Devin Townsend, BTBAM) and features cover art by Drake Mefestta (Cradle of Filth, Michael Romeo, Devilment) and is available now on gatefold double LP (only 300 pressed exclusively with 2015's Shadow EP as bonus), digital and compact disc. The new CD reissue features a bonus acoustic piano demo of the previously unreleased song “Mist".»

Bio: «Scardust, the foremost progressive metal band in Israel, features some of the finest musicians in the Israeli metal scene. Their music, rooted deeply in the classical world, though thematic and at times complex, manages to generate an anthemic familiarity in which band and audience sing in glorious unison.

The band’s EP, “Shadow” (2015) positioned them as a promising new comer, while their follow up efort, “Sands of Time” (2017) cemented them as the leading progressive metal band in the country. The band is particularly known for their often sold out live shows and have opened for the likes of Symphony X, Therion and Epica.»
