Metal Church - New album teaser
Νέος δίσκος στον ορίζοντα για τους Metal Church. Πληροφορίες δεν έχουν γίνει ακόμη γνωστές (τίτλος, ημερομηνία κυκλοφορίας, tracklist κλπ), αλλά οι Αμερικανοί metallers έδωσαν στην δημοσιότητα ένα teaser προετοιμάζοντας το έδαφος. Οι Metal Church δημιουργήθηκαν το 1980 στο San Francisco από τον Kurdt Vanderhoof. Φημολογείται πως ένα από τα τότε μέλη (το 1981) ήταν και ο drummer των Metallica, Lars Ulrich.
Μετά το demo "Red Skies" η μπάντα διαλύεται και ο Kurdt επιστρέφει στην γενέτειρά του σχηματίζοντας τους Shrapnel. Το 1983 μετονόμασε σε Metal Church και... το τραίνο μπήκε στις ράγες. Το συγκρότημα παραμένει ενεργό μέχρις τις ημέρες μας (με αρκετά διαλείμματα).
Οι Metal Church έχουν κυκλοφορήσει ένδεκα full length δίσκους, τρία live albums, δώδεκα singles και εννέα demos. Πιο πρόσφατη κυκλοφορία τους το "ζωντανά" ηχογραφημένο "Classic Live" που "βγήκε" πέρυσι, ενώ από στουντιακές δουλειές το "XI" που κυκλοφόρησε τον Μάρτιο του 2016...
Update - Δελτίο τύπου (04/10/2018): «Metal Church will release their 12th full length studio album "Damned If You Do" via Nuclear Blast Records on December 7, 2018 (Rat Pak Records/America & King Records/Japan). The latest release is the follow-up to their highly successful 2016 album "XI", which saw the return of legendary frontman Mike Howe. "Damned If You Do" is a cross between the band's iconic "Blessing In Disguise" and "The Human Factor". This new offering features ten fully-charged, classic-metal influenced songs that showcase the sound that has garnered the band a solid fan base for over 3 decades.»

Metal Church is credited as a formative influence on the thrash / metal subgenre, melding the aesthetics of the new wave of British heavy metal and American hard rock. Early lyrical topics, such as conflict and paranoia, later expanded into philosophical and social commentary.»
