Valkyria - "Abatido" (audio)
Βαλκυρίες (Valkyrjur): θηλυκές θεότητες της Σκανδιναβικής μυθολογίας. Τ' όνομά τους σημαίνει "αυτές που επιλέγουν τους σφαγιασθέντες" κι αυτό ακριβώς έκαναν. Μετέφεραν τους νεκρούς Βίκινγκς (μόνο αυτούς που είχαν σκοτωθεί ένδοξα, σε μάχη) στην Βαλχάλλα (Valhöll) για να λάβουν μέρος -στο πλευρό του Όντιν- στην μεγάλη "τελική" μάχη θεών και θνητών (Ragnarök).
Πέραν της μυθολογίας των βορείων λαών της Ευρώπης οι Βαλκυρίες επιζούν σήμερα μέσω της heavy metal κουλτούρας. Πλήθος αναφορών σε τραγούδια, τίτλους τραγουδιών και ονόματα συγκροτημάτων. Ένα από αυτά είναι οι Βάσκοι Valkyria.
Δημιουργήθηκαν προ τετραετίας, αρέσκονται σε heavy / power metal μουσικά μονοπάτια, δηλώνουν ως επιρροές συγκροτήματα όπως οι: Warcry, Saratoga, Baron Rojo, Avalanch, Su Ta Gar, Iron Maiden κι έχουν κυκλοφορήσει έναν δίσκο προ διετίας ("Principio y fin" Μάιος 2016).
Ο διάδοχός του είναι προ των πυλών. Τιτλοφορείται "Tierra Hostil" κι αναμένεται τον προσεχή Οκτώβριο. Η ακρόαση του τραγουδιού "Abatido" προετοιμάζει το έδαφος...
