Hellhound - "Nothing Left" (audios)

Biography: «Formed in 1982, and active on the San Francisco Bay Area club circuit from 1984 – 1988, HellHound shared stages with the likes of Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Death Angel and Forbidden. Despite releasing two well-received demos and attracting a fair amount of attention, these melodic thrash metallers disbanded before reaching their full potential.

In the years that followed, the band achieved cult status amongst the legions of underground metal fans, which lead to the release of their demos on CD by High Vaultage Records in 1998. Interest remained strong during the next decade, as a new generation of old school metal fans were exposed to HellHound via the Internet.

In 2008, the demos were repackaged by Stormspell Records and released on CD once again, this time with a DVD of a television appearance from 1987. It was at this time founding member Rich Pelletier (bass) and primary songwriter Robert Kolowtiz (lead guitar) decided to reunite the band at long last.

Joined by original members Mike “Wiggins” Walish (lead vocals) and Bob Edwards (lead guitar), they recruited drummer Wayne Devecchi to replace Steve Pelletier, who has retired from playing music. In early 2010, HellHound parted ways with Mike Walish, and recruited former D-Train and Sick Cell vocalist Joe Liszt.

A new demo was completed, which contained two new songs, a re-worked version of an unreleased one, and a 25th Anniversary edition of the classic "Killing Spree". Later that year saw the departure of Robert Kolowitz and Wayne Devecchi, who had accepted permanent positions in Imagika (a San Jose-based metal band in which they had been moonlighting).

At this time the remaining original members Rich Pelletier and Rob Edwards decided to move the band to Joe Listz's studio in the Sacramento area (where Rob also resides). Joe took on guitar duties in addition to vocals (as he had in his previous bands), and the band soon found a new drummer in Gary Neff (formerly of Forced Psychosis).

This line-up ended it's short run with a performance at Keep It True XIV in Germany on April 29, 2011. HellHound disbanded a short while later under mysterious circumstances. In early 2014, Liszt, Kolowitz, Edwards and the Pelletier brothers began working on a new album. Released in May of 2016 on StormSpell Records, Nothing Left was announced to be the final chapter of the bands 35 year history.»
