Πριν από εννέα έτη ο τραγουδιστής Travis Wills δημιούργησε τους Infidel Rising. Αμερικάνο power/prog metal συγκρότημα, το οποίο μας παρουσιάζεται κάπως έτσι: «Infidel Rising is a high energy blend of progressive and power metal taking over Dallas, TX».
Το φθινόπωρο του 2015 κυκλοφόρησαν το (αυτοχρηματοδοτούμενο) ντεμπούτο τους υπό τον τίτλο "The Torn Wings of Illusion" (την επόμενη χρονιά "βγήκε" και μέσω της Alone Records). Πλέον η μπάντα ανήκει στο δυναμικό της Pure Steel Records κι ετοιμάζεται για το δεύτερο full length album.
Φέτος οι Infidel Rising κυκλοφόρησαν ένα ep σε μόλις εκατό (100) αντίτυπα. Φέρει τον τίτλο "Chronicles of Inspiration Vol.I" και περιλαμβάνει (μεταξύ άλλων) και διασκευές σε τραγούδια των Stratovarius, Kamelot, Solitude Aeturnus, Pantera.
Στην παρούσα ανάρτηση θα ακούσουμε την προσέγγισή τους στον ύμνο των Solitude Aeturnus "Phantoms" (από τον δίσκο "Downfall" που κυκλοφόρησε το 1996) με την συμμετοχή του John Perez (πάντως η ερμηνεία του Robert Lowe είναι απλησίαστη)...

Their unique sound combines heavy metal drum and bass riffs with powerhouse vocals and symphonic instrumentation. Fans and reviewers have compared their sound to Fates Warning, Myrath, Queensryche, Symphony X and Dream Theater. In addition to actively playing live shows around Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston, they are also writing oringinal music for their new album.»
